Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TELDAT-TRAP-SDEV-MIB?

TELDAT-TRAP-SDEV-MIB is a Teldat enterprise MIB defining SNMP notifications (traps) generated by the router's SDEV (system/service device) event subsystem, part of Teldat's router and SD-WAN product line. Rather than exposing pollable configuration or state tables, this module is almost entirely a notifications/trap definition MIB, with a series of numbered event slots each carrying a short mnemonic and human-readable description string. It is used for monitoring the hardware and software status of the device indirectly: SDEV events typically flag conditions such as subsystem restarts, hardware faults, or internal service state transitions, and each trap's mnemonic/description pair informs the operator what happened without needing to poll a counter. It depends on the standard SNMPv2-TRAP/NOTIFICATION-TYPE conventions and Teldat's own enterprise event numbering scheme rather than on other management MIBs. It is deployed wherever Teldat routers are used, feeding trap receivers/NMS platforms that need real-time fault and event alerts rather than periodic polling. Engineers can download the TELDAT-TRAP-SDEV-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-SDEV-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat router
  • Teldat SD-WAN device

Monitoring Examples

An NMS configured to receive sdevNotifications would capture events where sdev1-mnemonic and sdev1-event-descr (and the parallel sdev2 through sdev6 slots) populate a short code and description string identifying what internal event fired, such as a subsystem fault or recovery. Because this MIB has no persistent state table to poll, monitoring is trap-driven: the sdevEventsGroup defines which of these varbinds are bundled into each notification so the receiving system can log and alert on the specific SDEV mnemonic reported.

What Can Be Monitored

  • SDEV event mnemonic
  • SDEV event description
  • internal subsystem fault/event notifications
