Description: Defines Teldat router MCF (multicast filter) event trap notifications.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TELDAT-TRAP-MCF-MIB?
TELDAT-TRAP-MCF-MIB is a Teldat enterprise MIB dedicated to defining SNMP trap notifications generated by the router's MCF (multicast filter) event subsystem. It exposes fault/event-oriented objects describing individual multicast filter events, including filter identifiers, source and destination addresses, associated interface, and optional tag information carried in each notification. Its role is squarely in fault/event monitoring: it lets an administrator receive real-time alerts when multicast filtering rules trigger or change, which can reveal misconfigured multicast filters or unexpected multicast traffic being blocked/passed on a given interface. It is a companion notifications module to Teldat's broader router MIB set covering multicast and filtering configuration. It is deployed on Teldat routers used in networks that rely on multicast filtering (e.g., IPTV or multicast VPN deployments) where filter-event visibility matters. Engineers can download the TELDAT-TRAP-MCF-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-MCF-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Teldat router
Monitoring Examples
When a filter event fires, the resulting trap carries objects like mcf7-filter, mcf7-source, mcf7-dest, and mcf7-interface (and similarly numbered mcf8-/mcf9- variants), letting an admin see exactly which multicast filter matched, on which interface, and between which source and destination. The mcfNotifications/mcfNotificationsPrefix objects define the trap OID structure itself. Repeated traps referencing the same mcf9-tag could indicate a persistent misconfigured filter rule blocking legitimate multicast traffic on a given interface.
What Can Be Monitored
- multicast filter trigger events
- filter source/destination addresses
- affected interface
- filter tag identifier
