What Is TELDAT-TRAP-LAPD-MIB?

TELDAT-TRAP-LAPD-MIB is a Teldat-specific notification-only MIB defining SNMP traps generated by the router's LAPD (Link Access Procedure on the D-channel) event subsystem, a data-link protocol used on ISDN and similar D-channel signaling links. It contains no polled data tables, only numbered trap definitions (lapd1, lapd2, lapd3 in the sample set) carrying varbinds such as SAPI, TEI, frame content, poll/final bit, sequence number, and the associated interface. Its monitoring value is fault/event-oriented: it notifies an operator of LAPD link-layer events on D-channel interfaces, useful for diagnosing ISDN signaling problems on legacy telecom links. It depends on the underlying LAPD/ISDN protocol stack implemented on the specific physical interfaces it references. It is deployed on Teldat routers with ISDN or other D-channel-signaled WAN interfaces, typically in legacy telecom access deployments. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the TELDAT-TRAP-LAPD-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-LAPD-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat routers with ISDN/D-channel signaling WAN interfaces

Monitoring Examples

As a trap-only MIB with no data tables, monitoring means capturing events at an SNMP trap receiver: lapd1-interface together with lapd1-SAPI and lapd1-TEI identifies exactly which D-channel link and logical connection experienced an event, while lapd1-frame and lapd1-bit-pf provide the raw frame content and poll/final bit for protocol-level diagnosis. lapd2-nr would additionally report a sequence number useful for detecting out-of-sequence frame issues on that link. Frequent LAPD traps on a given interface would point to an unstable ISDN D-channel connection or signaling misconfiguration. lapdEventsGroup defines the overall set of LAPD trap events the device can emit.
