What Is TELDAT-TRAP-D1X-MIB?

TELDAT-TRAP-D1X-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB module from Teldat, a Spanish networking equipment manufacturer, defining SNMP trap notifications for the router's 802.1X (D1X) port-based authentication subsystem. It exposes only notification-related objects describing 802.1X state-machine transitions per interface, rather than a full table of polled runtime data. In terms of monitoring, its focus is squarely on software/protocol status and fault/event detection: it lets a management station learn, via traps, when an 802.1X authentication state machine on a given port and interface has changed state, which is useful for detecting authentication failures or unauthorized access attempts on switch/router ports. As a trap-only companion MIB, it likely depends on a corresponding Teldat 802.1X configuration MIB (or the IEEE 802.1X standard model) for the broader dot1x port-access-control data model. It is typically deployed on Teldat routers and switches in enterprise or carrier access networks that use 802.1X for port-based network access control. Engineers can download the TELDAT-TRAP-D1X-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-D1X-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat routers and switches

Monitoring Examples

A management station configured to receive Teldat notifications would watch for d1x1-state, d1x2-state, and d1x3-state trap variables (one set per monitored 802.1X instance) to learn when a port's authentication state machine transitions, for example from unauthenticated to authenticated or vice versa. The accompanying d1x1-interface and d1x1-port-number varbinds identify exactly which physical interface and port triggered the event. Repeated state-machine trap bursts on the same port could indicate a misconfigured supplicant or a brute-force authentication attempt worth investigating.

What Can Be Monitored

  • 802.1X authentication state-machine transitions
  • port/interface identity for auth events
  • per-instance (d1x1/d1x2/d1x3) authentication state
