Description: Defines Teldat router IGMP multicast event trap notifications.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TELDAT-TRAP-IGMP-MIB?

TELDAT-TRAP-IGMP-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from Teldat defining SNMP trap notifications from the router's IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol) multicast event subsystem. It is a notifications-only module exposing trap variable bindings tied to specific interfaces and, for some events, source addresses, describing multicast group membership and related IGMP protocol events. Its monitoring purpose is software/protocol event visibility: it alerts a management station in real time about IGMP-related occurrences per interface, helping operators track multicast group join/leave activity and detect misbehaving multicast sources or interfaces. It depends on the standard IGMP protocol (RFC 3376 and related) as implemented in Teldat router software. It is typically deployed on Teldat routers participating in IP multicast distribution, such as for IPTV or multicast application delivery in enterprise or carrier networks. Engineers can download the TELDAT-TRAP-IGMP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-IGMP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat enterprise/carrier routers

Monitoring Examples

A monitoring system would receive traps carrying igmp1-interface through igmp6-interface to identify which interface generated a given IGMP event, and igmp7-description to get a human-readable summary of the condition. Traps including igmp8-srcaddr/igmp8-interface, igmp9-srcaddr/igmp9-interface, or igmp10-srcaddr would let an operator correlate a specific multicast source address with the interface it was seen on, useful for spotting an unexpected or unauthorized multicast source.
