Description: Defines Teldat router HDSL interface event trap notifications.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TELDAT-TRAP-HDSL-MIB?

TELDAT-TRAP-HDSL-MIB is a Teldat proprietary, notification-only SNMP MIB that defines the trap varbinds emitted by the router's HDSL (High-bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line) interface event subsystem, relevant to Teldat routers with HDSL WAN modules. It groups numbered event definitions (hdsl1 through hdsl6, under hdslEventsGroup/hdslNotifications) carrying a mnemonic identifier plus either line information, a state-machine event, or a free-form event description. Operationally it is a fault/event monitor for the HDSL physical/line layer: it lets a management station learn asynchronously about HDSL line state-machine transitions and line-level events, which is essential for diagnosing a degraded or down HDSL circuit, a training/handshake failure, or noise-related instability on the copper pair. As with Teldat's other TRAP-* modules it depends on the standard SNMPv2-SMI/SNMPv2-TC notification conventions and Teldat's private enterprise OID tree, and complements any HDSL line-status objects exposed elsewhere in Teldat's WAN interface MIBs. It is deployed on Teldat routers using HDSL leased-line WAN circuits, where TELDAT-TRAP-HDSL-MIB SNMP monitoring gives line-layer fault events the prompt escalation they need.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-HDSL-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat router with HDSL WAN interface module

Monitoring Examples

This module defines only notification objects and their varbinds rather than a polled line-status table, so there is no GET-based monitoring scenario; it is trap-only. An SNMP trap receiver would inspect hdsl2-MNEMONIC together with hdsl2-STATE-MACHINE-EVENT to see exactly which HDSL line-state transition occurred, and hdsl4-EVENT-DESCRIPTION/hdsl5-EVENT-DESCRIPTION for the human-readable detail behind a specific line fault.

What Can Be Monitored

  • HDSL line state-machine transition events
  • HDSL line/circuit fault event descriptions
