What Is TELDAT-TRAP-HSSI-MIB?
TELDAT-TRAP-HSSI-MIB is a Teldat enterprise MIB dedicated to SNMP trap notifications generated by the HSSI (High-Speed Serial Interface) event subsystem on Teldat routers. It does not expose polled configuration data so much as define the notifications sent when HSSI line-signal conditions change, covering multiple physical HSSI ports and their associated control/timing/loopback signal lines. Its core use is hardware status monitoring for WAN serial interfaces: it reports interface up/down transitions and control-signal state changes (transmit clock, carrier detect, and loopback indicator lines) so an operator is alerted the moment a physical WAN link degrades or fails, without having to poll continuously. It is built on Teldat's own enterprise trap-notification conventions layered over the standard SNMP trap mechanism, tied closely to the router's underlying serial-interface hardware model. It is deployed on Teldat routers carrying HSSI WAN circuits, where TELDAT-TRAP-HSSI-MIB SNMP monitoring is typical in telco or enterprise WAN environments using leased-line or serial WAN connectivity.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-HSSI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Teldat routers
- Teldat routers equipped with HSSI WAN interface cards
Monitoring Examples
The module defines per-interface trap objects such as hssi1_interface through hssi5_ta and signal-specific traps like hssi3_ta, hssi3_ca, hssi4_la, hssi4_lb, and hssi4_lc, grouped under hssiEventsGroup and sent via hssiNotifications. An administrator subscribing to these traps would be alerted the moment a carrier-detect (CA) or loopback (LA/LB/LC) signal on a given HSSI port changes state, revealing a physical WAN link fault, a carrier-side outage, or an unexpected loopback condition on that circuit.
What Can Be Monitored
- HSSI interface up/down events
- carrier detect (CA) signal state per interface
- transmit clock/timing (TA) signal state
- loopback indicator (LA/LB/LC) signal state
