What Is TELDAT-TRAP-G703-MIB?

The TELDAT-TRAP-G703-MIB is a vendor-specific SNMP notification module for Teldat routers, covering events raised by the G.703 physical-layer interface subsystem used for E1/T1-style digital circuit connections. It is a pure trap/notification MIB, with numbered event object groups identifying the physical interface involved in each reported condition rather than exposing ongoing performance counters. Its monitoring value is flagging hardware-level physical-layer problems on G.703 circuits — such as interface state changes or line alarms — as they occur, functioning as an event log for the physical WAN interface hardware rather than a polled status table. It complements the standard IF-MIB interface-state model by supplying Teldat-specific fault detail for this circuit type. It is deployed on Teldat routers fitted with G.703 WAN interface cards, typically in telco or leased-line environments, so operators can be alerted immediately to physical circuit faults, typically after a TELDAT-TRAP-G703-MIB download is loaded into the network's trap-receiving NMS.
