What Is TELDAT-TRAP-FR-MIB?

TELDAT-TRAP-FR-MIB is a Teldat, S.A. enterprise MIB that defines SNMP notification objects for Frame Relay interface events on Teldat routers, registered under the shared telEventTraps subtree of TELDAT-MIB. It enumerates dozens of discrete FR events (frEventObjects1 through frEventObjects53), each an OBJECT-IDENTITY describing a specific occurrence — such as frame receipt/transmission, DLCI status changes, or LMI/signaling problems — paired with accessible-for-notify parameter objects (e.g. fr1-circuit, fr1-protocol, fr1-size, fr1-ifcname, fr1-buffer) that carry contextual detail like circuit number, protocol, frame size, and interface name inside the trap payload. Because these are notification-only objects rather than a polled table, the MIB is useful for event-driven monitoring: an NMS receiving these traps can log Frame Relay circuit-level anomalies in near real time rather than relying on periodic polling. It depends on TELDAT-MIB for its OID registration point and enterprise structure, and is deployed on Teldat router platforms carrying Frame Relay WAN circuits. Network teams managing Teldat FR links frequently need a TELDAT-TRAP-FR-MIB MIB Browser to decode the numbered event identities into meaningful circuit-level alerts.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-FR-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat router platforms with Frame Relay WAN interfaces

Monitoring Examples

An operator configures an NMS trap receiver to capture notifications tied to frEventObjects1 (frame received) and later events in the series, inspecting the accompanying fr1-circuit and fr1-ifcname values to identify which Frame Relay circuit and interface triggered the event; a burst of error-type FR trap events referencing the same circuit number would indicate a failing or misconfigured Frame Relay PVC.

What Can Be Monitored

  • Frame Relay interface event notifications
  • per-event circuit/protocol/frame-size parameters
  • interface name associated with FR events
  • buffer-related event details
