What Is TAVVE-MIB?
TAVVE-MIB is the vendor-specific MIB for Tavve Software's network management/SNMP-proxy products, used historically to relay events (via an "EventWatch"/tscEw object family) between managed devices and upstream network management platforms. It exposes fault and event data describing a source device's identity, address, protocol, and associated fault conditions, along with threshold/SLA-value settings and a report-host destination for forwarding alerts. Rather than exposing hardware sensors of its own, this MIB is primarily used to monitor the fault/event status of other devices proxied through the Tavve system, tracking fault names and times and user-defined thresholds that indicate degraded service levels elsewhere in the network. Because it wraps or forwards information sourced from other devices' protocols (referenced generically via tscEwSourceProtocol), it depends contextually on whatever protocol/MIB the monitored source device uses rather than a single fixed standard. Typical deployment is a service-provider or enterprise NOC where Tavve's software acts as an SNMP proxy/aggregation layer for fault and SLA event correlation across many managed elements. Engineers can download the TAVVE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TAVVE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. Monitoring Examples
An operator would poll tscEwFaultName and tscEwFaultTimes to see how often and when a monitored source device (identified by tscEwSourceNode/tscEwSourceAddr) has raised a fault. tscEwUserThreshold and tscEwSlaValue let the admin read or set an SLA breach threshold, flagging when a metric exceeds an agreed limit. tscEwReportHost identifies where these fault events get forwarded, useful for confirming alert routing is correctly configured to the NOC's collector.
