What Is SYMBOL-DSSS-ENTERPRISE-PRIVATE-MIB?

SYMBOL-DSSS-ENTERPRISE-PRIVATE-MIB is a Symbol Technologies (802.11 DSSS wireless access point vendor, enterprise OID 388, later Motorola/Zebra) proprietary MIB reporting access-point hardware identification and network/service configuration. Its objects cover model/serial number, hardware/AP-firmware/RF-firmware revision, MAC address, manufacture date, HTML-file revision, vendor ID, unit name, IP address/subnet mask/gateway, default interface, Ethernet port state/timeout, Telnet/access-control/type-filter/WNMP enable flags, AP-state-exchange enable, mobile-IP enable, advertisement interval, web-server enable, and mobile-home MD5 key. As a hardware/configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm firmware revisions and network configuration on a Symbol DSSS access point. It is deployed on Symbol Technologies (Motorola/Zebra) 802.11 DSSS access points. Engineers can download the SYMBOL-DSSS-ENTERPRISE-PRIVATE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
