apMulticastMask

Module: SYMBOL-DSSS-ENTERPRISE-PRIVATE-MIB

OID (symbolic): SYMBOL-DSSS-ENTERPRISE-PRIVATE-MIB::apMulticastMask

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.388.1.5.1.4.11

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-write

Description: Supports broadcast download protocol for Point-of-Sale terminals that load a new operating image over the network instead of using a local non-volatile drive. The multicast mask is the top 32 bits of the MAC address and allows for a series of MAC addresses to receive multicast messages. These messages are transmitted by the AP immediately and not queued for processing at DTIM intervals.

What is apMulticastMask?

Read-write 1-4 byte mask matching the top bits of a MAC address, used to identify a broadcast download session (e.g. for Point-of-Sale terminals loading a new firmware image over the network) so the AP forwards those multicast frames immediately instead of queuing them for the next DTIM interval. Admins set this when deploying bulk firmware pushes to a fleet of terminals.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.388.1.5.1.4.11
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> SYMBOL-DSSS-ENTERPRISE-PRIVATE-MIB::apMulticastMask

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.388.1.5.1.4.11.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> SYMBOL-DSSS-ENTERPRISE-PRIVATE-MIB::apMulticastMask.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.388.1.5.1.4.11.1 s <value>
