Category: Switch Management - Raisecom

Description: Manages Raisecom switch system-level objects including identity, uptime, and operational configuration.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is SWITCH-SYSTEM-MIB?

SWITCH-SYSTEM-MIB is a Raisecom enterprise MIB module (prefix rc) covering system-level management of the iSCOM Ethernet switch product family. It exposes system identity and capability data such as hardware and internal software (RoseVersion) versions, maximum port/aggregation/subnet capacities, MAC address table sizing, VLAN space, and per-slot hardware information, all reachable via the SWITCH-SYSTEM-MIB OID tree defined under the rc enterprise prefix. It is squarely a hardware/software status module: it surfaces hardware and firmware version strings, the most recent internal error code, and slot-level hardware inventory, all of which are useful for detecting a failed line card or confirming firmware consistency before an upgrade. No explicit dependency on other MIBs is evident from the source, though it likely complements standard interface and VLAN MIBs used alongside it on the same switch. It is typically deployed on Raisecom iSCOM-series metro Ethernet access/aggregation switches in carrier and enterprise networks.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SWITCH-SYSTEM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Raisecom iSCOM-series metro Ethernet switch family (system identity/hardware inventory)

Monitoring Examples

rcSwitchHardwareVersion and rcSwitchRoseVersion let an admin confirm which hardware revision and internal software version are running before a firmware rollout; rcSwitchLastErrorCode exposes the most recent internal fault code, and rcSlotInformation/rcSwitchInformation reveal per-slot hardware presence, useful for detecting a missing or failed line card; rcSwitchMacTableCapability and rcSwitchVlanSpaceSize expose configured capacity limits for the MAC table and VLAN space.

What Can Be Monitored

  • hardware and software version
  • last error code
  • slot/card inventory
  • MAC address table capacity
  • VLAN space utilization
  • max port/aggregation capacity
