Description: Manages Raisecom switch MAC address table configuration, static entries, and aging parameters.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is SWITCH-MACCONFIG-MIB?
SWITCH-MACCONFIG-MIB is a Raisecom proprietary MIB for managing MAC address table configuration on Raisecom Ethernet switches, including static MAC entries and table-clearing operations. It exposes configuration data such as static MAC-to-port bindings, per-port source/destination MAC filtering policy, and administrative commands to selectively clear MAC entries by port, MAC address, VLAN, or entry type. Monitoring it helps verify software-level MAC learning and security policy is behaving correctly, for example confirming a static binding hasn't been overridden, or that a MAC table clear operation completed as intended after a suspected MAC spoofing or flapping event. The available material does not show an explicit dependency on other MIBs, though it likely complements the standard BRIDGE-MIB's MAC address table for a fuller picture. It is deployed on Raisecom switches in carrier-access or enterprise networks requiring granular MAC address security controls. Engineers can download the SWITCH-MACCONFIG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SWITCH-MACCONFIG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Raisecom managed Ethernet switch
Monitoring Examples
An administrator polls rcStaticMacPortTable/rcStaticMacPortEntry, indexed by rcPort, to confirm that a statically bound MAC address is still pinned to its expected port and hasn't migrated, which would indicate a spoofing attempt or a cabling change. rcStaticSmacPolicy and rcStaticDmacPolicy show whether source or destination MAC filtering enforcement is active on that port. The rcMacConfigClearMacPort/rcMacConfigClearMacMac/rcMacConfigClearMacVlan/rcMacConfigClearMacType/rcMacConfigClearMacFlag objects are used to selectively flush dynamic MAC entries by port, VLAN, or entry type, which an admin would invoke after diagnosing MAC table poisoning or flapping to force relearning.
What Can Be Monitored
- static MAC-to-port bindings
- per-port source/destination MAC filtering policy
- MAC table clear/flush operations by port, VLAN, or type
- static MAC entry status
