Category: Enterprise SMI and Registration, RAID and Storage Management
Description: Defines the SCC RAID7 storage enterprise root OID hierarchy for MIB registration.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is SCC-ENTERPRISE-MIB?
This MIB defines the root OID hierarchy under which SCC's RAID7 storage product line registers its SNMP management objects, part of SCC's private enterprise MIB tree for its storage controllers. As shown here it contains only registration nodes (scc, sccProducts, sccRaid7, sccMibs, raid7mib, raid7proxy) and no scalar or table objects of its own, so it exposes no runtime hardware or software data by itself. Any actual monitoring of RAID array health, disk status, or controller performance would live in the raid7mib/raid7proxy branch this MIB merely reserves space for, not in this module. It exists solely to establish the OID namespace, so it has no functional dependency on other MIBs beyond the base SNMPv2-SMI enterprise arc. It is deployed as the root registration alongside SCC RAID7 storage controllers, loaded together with the fuller RAID7 management MIB that defines the actual monitorable objects. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the SCC-ENTERPRISE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SCC-ENTERPRISE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- SCC RAID7 storage system/RAID controller
Monitoring Examples
The sample objects (scc, sccProducts, sccRaid7, sccMibs, raid7mib, raid7proxy) are all bare OID registration nodes with no child scalars or tables defined in this module, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe here — it purely establishes the namespace under which the actual RAID7 monitoring MIB hangs.
