Category: Enterprise SMI and Registration, Environmental and Power Monitoring, Intelligent PDU Management

Description: Registers Schleifenbauer Engineering product OID assignments for intelligent PDU identification.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is SCHLEIFENBAUER-PRODUCTS-MIB?

SCHLEIFENBAUER-PRODUCTS-MIB is a Schleifenbauer Engineering proprietary MIB whose sole purpose is to register and organize the OID namespace for Schleifenbauer's intelligent power distribution unit (PDU) product line, rather than to expose runtime monitoring data itself. It defines the product identity structure (hpdu, dpm3) used as parent OIDs under which Schleifenbauer's actual monitoring MIBs (covering metrics such as PDU outlet power, current, and environmental readings) are rooted. As a registration/identity module it does not itself carry hardware or software status objects like uptime, temperature, or power readings; those live in the separate operational MIBs that use these OID branches. It exists specifically to support and be depended upon by Schleifenbauer's other product MIBs, providing the shared naming/identity hierarchy across the hpdu and dpm3 product families. It is typically encountered in data center power monitoring deployments using Schleifenbauer intelligent PDUs, alongside the vendor's separate data-bearing MIBs. Engineers can download the SCHLEIFENBAUER-PRODUCTS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SCHLEIFENBAUER-PRODUCTS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Schleifenbauer intelligent PDU (power distribution unit)

Monitoring Examples

This MIB, based on its sample objects (hpdu, dpm3), is a product identity/registration module defining OID root branches for Schleifenbauer's PDU product lines rather than a source of pollable runtime data itself, so no realistic monitoring scenario applies directly to it. An administrator would instead look to Schleifenbauer's companion operational MIBs, rooted under the hpdu or dpm3 branches defined here, to poll actual PDU metrics like outlet current or power draw. This module's role is purely structural/registration, honestly reflecting that it defines identifiers rather than monitorable objects.
