Description: Manages Ruckus Wireless adapter configuration and network attachment parameters.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is RUCKUS-ADAPTER-MIB?
RUCKUS-ADAPTER-MIB is a vendor MIB from Ruckus Wireless for managing wireless client adapter devices and their network attachment/association parameters. It exposes an adapter table for base configuration (MAC address, reboot control), an adapter-info table describing the wireless association (SSID, BSSID) and connection quality, and a statistics table for traffic/performance counters, alongside an events group for notifications. Its monitoring value directly covers wireless client hardware/software status: whether the adapter has associated to the expected SSID/BSSID, its received signal strength (RSSI) as a proxy for wireless link quality, and the ability to remotely trigger a reboot of the adapter as a recovery action. It appears to be a self-contained enterprise MIB specific to Ruckus adapter hardware, without evident dependency on other standard wireless MIBs. It is typically deployed on Ruckus wireless client adapters/bridges used to connect fixed devices to a Ruckus Wi-Fi network in retail, hospitality, or industrial settings, and administrators can download the RUCKUS-ADAPTER-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RUCKUS-ADAPTER-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ruckus Wireless (now CommScope Ruckus) client adapter/bridge devices
Monitoring Examples
An operator would poll ruckusAdapterInfoTable/ruckusAdapterInfoEntry indexed by ruckusAdapterInfoMacAddr to check ruckusAdapterInfoSSID and ruckusAdapterInfoBSSID against the expected access point, confirming the adapter hasn't roamed to or gotten stuck on an unintended AP. ruckusAdapterRssi dropping over time would indicate a degrading wireless link needing repositioning or interference investigation, while ruckusAdapterStatTable/ruckusAdapterStatEntry would be polled for traffic counters to correlate throughput drops with the RSSI trend. If an adapter becomes unresponsive, ruckusAdapterReboot in ruckusAdapterTable provides a remote recovery action tied to ruckusAdapterMacAddress.
What Can Be Monitored
- adapter MAC address
- associated SSID/BSSID
- signal strength (RSSI)
- adapter traffic statistics
- remote reboot status
