TEXTUAL-CONVENTION

What Is RUCKUS-TC-MIB?

RUCKUS-TC-MIB is a Ruckus Wireless enterprise MIB that defines textual conventions and shared enumerated types used across the rest of the Ruckus MIB suite (wireless AP and controller MIBs). It contains organizational nodes for objects, events, conformance groups, and compliance statements but no instrumented runtime data of its own. Because it is a textual-conventions module, it has no direct role in reporting hardware/software status such as uptime, temperature, CPU load, or radio statistics—that data lives in the Ruckus AP/controller MIBs that import these shared types. Every other Ruckus product MIB depends on this module for its common type definitions, making it a foundational dependency rather than a standalone monitoring target, so administrators typically only need to load the RUCKUS-TC-MIB MIB file once as a shared dependency when compiling the broader Ruckus MIB suite into a monitoring tool. It is deployed alongside other Ruckus MIBs wherever Ruckus Wireless access points and controllers are SNMP-managed.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RUCKUS-TC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Ruckus Wireless AP/controller product family, entire MIB suite (shared textual conventions, no data objects)

Monitoring Examples

This module exposes only structural nodes—ruckusTCObjects, ruckusTCEvents, ruckusTCConf, ruckusTCGroups, ruckusTCCompls—with no leaf data objects to poll. An admin would not query this MIB directly for status; actual wireless AP monitoring (radio state, client counts, etc.) would be performed against the Ruckus AP/controller MIBs that import these textual conventions.
