rcTengIfName

Module: RAPID-CITY

OID (symbolic): RAPID-CITY::rcTengIfName

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2272.1.50.1.4.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-only

Description: The textual name of the interface. The value of this object should be the name of the interface as assigned by the local device and should be suitable for use in commands entered at the device's `console'. This might be a text name, such as `le0' or a simple port number, such as `1', depending on the interface naming syntax of the device. If several entries in the rcTengIfTable together represent a single interface as named by the device, then each will have the same value of rcTengIfName. If there is no local name, or this object is otherwise not applicable, then this object contains a 0-length string.

What is rcTengIfName?

This read-only text string holds the human-readable name assigned to a 10-gigabit Ethernet interface, such as 'te0' or 'eth10', matching the naming convention used in the device's command-line interface and logs. The name is vendor and device-specific but is designed to be usable as a reference in CLI commands and scripts. Network operators use this name to identify and manage specific high-speed ports when configuring features or troubleshooting connectivity.
