This OID counts the number of times routing update messages sent to a neighbor contained unrecognized attributes that caused errors. Elevated counts suggest the router is trying to send routing information in a format the neighbor doesn't understand, indicating a version mismatch or misconfiguration. A network engineer would monitor this to detect routing protocol incompatibilities before they cause network outages.
