Description: The 6-bit DSCP field from the ToS byte in Ipv4 header encodes the PHB information per DiffServ standards (Refer to DiffServ RFCs 2474). Set the Dscp to PHB (like EF) or PHB-class(like AF1 which includes AF11, AF12,AF13) to mark specific diffserv class traffic. Set the field value to desired integer dscp code for rcPrFilterAceRemarkDscp field to mark non-standard traffic classes and local use PHBs.

What is rcPrFilterAceRemarkDscp?

This policy object allows administrators to mark packets with a DiffServ Code Point (DSCP) value from the ToS byte, implementing quality-of-service (QoS) traffic classification per RFC 2474 standards. By setting the DSCP to a Per-Hop Behavior class (like EF for expedited forwarding or AF1x for assured forwarding), packets receive differentiated forwarding treatment based on their marked service class. Network operators use this to implement traffic prioritization policies for voice, video, and critical business traffic.
