Description:

Used to trap changes in the laser bias status

What is rcPlugOptModBiasStatusTrap?

This trap is sent whenever the operational status of the optical module's laser bias current changes, such as when bias increases or decreases significantly. Laser bias status is critical for optical module health and signal quality. Operators monitor this alarm to detect potential optical transceiver failures or degradation before total loss of signal occurs.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' RAPID-CITY::rcPlugOptModBiasStatusTrap
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.2272.1.21.0.91

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
