This object specifies the maximum idle time (in seconds) that an MPLS Label Distribution Protocol (LDP) session will remain active without receiving a keepalive message from the peer. If the hold time expires without a keepalive, the session terminates and labels are revoked. Operators adjust this value to tune session stability, balancing fast failure detection against false flaps from transient packet loss.
