What Is RADLAN-TRAPS-MIB?

This is a Marvell/Radlan private MIB defining SNMP trap notifications for system-level events on switch platforms built on the Radlan embedded switch software stack, widely OEM'd by many switch vendors. Without sample objects available, its content is inferred to be primarily notification/trap definitions rather than a rich set of polled data objects, covering events such as system state changes, faults, or configuration events. Its monitoring value is in fault/event awareness—receiving asynchronous traps that flag hardware or software events (e.g., link state changes, power events, or system resets) as they happen rather than through periodic polling. It is part of Radlan's private enterprise MIB family, commonly used alongside other Radlan-based switch MIBs (interfaces, VLAN, etc.) on OEM switch platforms. It would be deployed on a wide range of OEM switches built on the Radlan/Marvell switch software stack across various vendors' branded products, and the RADLAN-TRAPS-MIB download is usually bundled with the vendor's switch firmware or management software package.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RADLAN-TRAPS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

What Can Be Monitored

  • system-level fault/event traps

Supported Devices

  • OEM switches built on Marvell/Radlan switch software

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were provided for this MIB, so specific trap names cannot be cited directly; however, based on its purpose, an NMS would typically register to receive traps from this MIB to be alerted in real time to system-level events such as a reboot, configuration change, or fault condition on a Radlan-based switch, rather than polling for them. Because trap MIBs are event-driven, the value here is immediate notification rather than periodic counter monitoring. Confirming exact trap object names would require consulting the actual MIB source.
