Description: Provides BATM Advanced Communication per-port egress traffic counters for bandwidth utilization and congestion monitoring.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is PRVT-EGRESS-COUNTERS-MIB?
PRVT-EGRESS-COUNTERS-MIB is a vendor MIB from BATM Advanced Communication providing per-port egress traffic counters broken down by priority, drop level, VLAN, and interface, for bandwidth utilization and congestion monitoring on specific boards. It exposes a counter-set table keyed by configurable dimensions (priority, VLAN, drop level, interface) rather than hardware sensor data. Its monitoring value is performance/traffic-focused: it helps detect congestion or drops occurring at specific priority levels or VLANs on egress ports, which is a software/traffic-plane health indicator rather than a physical hardware one. It is a proprietary, board-specific extension without clear dependency on standard IETF traffic MIBs, tailored to BATM's QoS/priority model. It is deployed on BATM Advanced Communication switching boards where granular egress QoS visibility is needed to diagnose congestion. Engineers can download the PRVT-EGRESS-COUNTERS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PRVT-EGRESS-COUNTERS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- BATM Advanced Communication switching board
Monitoring Examples
An admin would poll prvtEgressCntCounterSetTable/prvtEgressCntCounterSetEntry filtered by prvtEgressCntVlan and prvtEgressCntPriority to see egress traffic and drop counts for a specific VLAN and priority combination on a given prvtEgressCntPort. A counter showing rising drops at a high prvtEgressCntDropLevelMode setting for a particular VLAN would indicate that VLAN is oversubscribing the egress port's bandwidth. Comparing counts across prvtEgressCntAllInterfaces helps isolate which physical interface is the congestion point.
What Can Be Monitored
- egress traffic counters by priority
- egress drop counts by drop level
- per-VLAN egress statistics
- per-port/interface egress statistics
