Description: Manages BATM Advanced Communication ITU-T Y.1564 Ethernet service activation test configuration and measurement results.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is PRVT-Y1564-MIB?

This proprietary BATM Advanced Communication MIB controls and provisions ITU-T Y.1564 Ethernet service-activation tests, an industry-standard methodology for validating committed bandwidth, frame loss, and latency of an Ethernet service before or during turn-up. Its data covers test configuration (test type, mode, source/target endpoints, committed information rate) as well as test execution status and results, making it primarily a performance-validation/diagnostics category MIB rather than a passive counter MIB. It is used to monitor the operational status of the test process itself and its measured performance outcome — an operator watches prvtY1564TestExecStatus to know whether a service-activation test is running, completed, or failed, and inspects the associated result object to confirm whether the circuit met its committed rate and QoS targets. It explicitly extends the IETF DISMAN-PING-MIB framework, layering Y.1564-specific test parameters (CIR, source/target type) on top of that standard active-measurement infrastructure. It is deployed on BATM/Telco Systems carrier Ethernet equipment during service turn-up, SLA validation, or periodic health-checks of leased Ethernet circuits. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the PRVT-Y1564-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PRVT-Y1564-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • BATM/Telco Systems carrier Ethernet switch

Monitoring Examples

An operator configures a row in prvtY1564TestTable (via prvtY1564TestEntry) setting prvtY1564TestType, prvtY1564TestMode, prvtY1564TestSourceType/prvtY1564TestSource, prvtY1564TestTargetType/prvtY1564TestTarget, and prvtY1564TestCIR, then triggers the test and polls prvtY1564TestExecStatus to see whether it is in-progress or finished. Once complete, prvtY1564TestResult is read to determine whether the measured throughput/loss met the committed information rate, revealing a service that is underperforming its SLA if the result indicates a failure despite a healthy prvtY1564TestExecStatus.

What Can Be Monitored

  • Y.1564 test execution status
  • test source/target endpoints
  • committed information rate (CIR)
  • test result/pass-fail outcome
  • configured test profiles
