What Is PDN-ATM-BRIDGE-IWF-MIB?
PDN-ATM-BRIDGE-IWF-MIB is a Paradyne enterprise MIB for monitoring and controlling the ATM-to-Ethernet-bridge Interworking Function (IWF) on Paradyne DSL access equipment, which maps ATM virtual circuits onto bridged Ethernet ports. It exposes a table of IWF mappings keyed by ATM VPI/VCI that associates each virtual circuit with a specific 802.1D bridge port. Its monitoring purpose is configuration/status health of the bridging path -- confirming a given ATM VC is correctly interworked to the expected bridge port and that the row is active, since a broken or misconfigured mapping would silently drop bridged traffic between the ATM and Ethernet sides. It is explicitly built to work alongside the standard BRIDGE-MIB (802.1D, dot1dBasePort), tying ATM VC identifiers to bridge port indices defined there. It is deployed on Paradyne DSL access multiplexers that bridge Ethernet traffic over ATM-based DSL uplinks. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the PDN-ATM-BRIDGE-IWF-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PDN-ATM-BRIDGE-IWF-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Paradyne ATM/DSL access multiplexer with Ethernet bridging
Monitoring Examples
An operator would walk pdnAtmBridgeIwfTable/Entry, keyed by pdnAtmBridgeIwfVclVpi and pdnAtmBridgeIwfVclVci, to confirm each configured VC maps to the correct pdnAtmBridgeIwfDot1dBasePort and that pdnAtmBridgeIwfRowStatus shows the mapping active. If a subscriber's bridged Ethernet traffic isn't reaching the ATM uplink, checking whether the row status is inactive or the VPI/VCI values don't match provisioning is a first diagnostic step. pdnAtmBridgeIwfNotifications would alert on changes to these interworking mappings.
What Can Be Monitored
- ATM VC-to-bridge-port mapping
- interworking function row status
- VPI/VCI assignment per bridge port
