Category: CPE/Router

Description: Manages OAM (Operations, Administration, and Maintenance) functions and diagnostics on OneAccess CPE routers.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ONEACCESS-OAM-MIB?

ONEACCESS-OAM-MIB is a vendor MIB from OneAccess covering ATM OAM (Operations, Administration, and Maintenance) functions on its CPE routers, used to manage and diagnose ATM virtual circuits. It exposes objects for configuring loopback tests (segment and end-to-end), AIS/RDI alarm handling, and continuity-check settings, plus counters for OAM cells transmitted and received and a table of managed ATM VCLs. Its monitoring value centers on the operational health of ATM PVCs, allowing an operator to see current versus maximum OAM connections, verify continuity checks are enabled, and watch OAM cell counters to detect a broken or degraded ATM circuit before it causes an outage. It relies on the standard ATM OAM concepts defined in ITU-T/ATM Forum specifications for its loopback and alarm semantics. It is typically deployed on OneAccess routers with ATM WAN interfaces in DSL or leased-line access networks, and administrators can get the ONEACCESS-OAM-MIB download to load into their MIB browser for ATM OAM monitoring.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ONEACCESS-OAM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • OneAccess CPE router with ATM WAN interface

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would check oacAtmOamSwitchCurrentConnections against oacAtmOamSwitchMaxConnections to see how heavily the OAM subsystem is loaded, and inspect oacAtmOamSwitchOamCellsReceived/oacAtmOamSwitchOamCellsTransmitted for signs of a stalled OAM cell exchange. Enabling oacAtmOamSwitchSegmentContinuityCheckEnable or oacAtmOamSwitchEndContinuityCheckEnable and then watching for an AIS/RDI condition via oacAtmOamSwitchAisRdiEnable would reveal a failed ATM segment or end-to-end path. Walking oacAtmOamVclTable by oacAtmOamVclPvcManage shows the management state of each individual ATM PVC being tracked.

What Can Be Monitored

  • ATM OAM connection count
  • OAM cells transmitted/received
  • loopback test status
  • AIS/RDI alarm state
  • continuity check status
  • per-VCL PVC management state
