Description: Provides aggregate summary objects for monitoring overall system and interface health on OneAccess CPE routers.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ONEACCESS-SUMOF-MIB?
ONEACCESS-SUMOF-MIB (module oacSumOfMIBModule, under oacExpIMManagement 7) is a OneAccess enterprise MIB for CPE routers that aggregates standard interface counters across an interface's active subinterfaces. Rather than exposing new metrics, oacSumOfIfTable sums the classic IF-MIB counters — sumOfIfInOctets, sumOfIfInUcastPkts/NUcastPkts, sumOfIfInDiscards, sumOfIfInErrors, sumOfIfInUnknownProtos, and the matching outbound counters — for every subinterface riding on a given ifIndex, while oacSumOfIfXTable adds the IF-MIB-extension equivalents: multicast/broadcast packet counts and 64-bit high-capacity (HC) octet/packet counters. This is useful specifically on multi-subinterface access links (e.g. a physical port carrying many VLAN or PPPoE subinterfaces) where per-subinterface polling would be expensive, letting an operator get an aggregate view of traffic and error volume for the parent interface in a single poll. It is deployed on OneAccess CPE routers alongside the standard IF-MIB, and administrators can get the ONEACCESS-SUMOF-MIB download for their monitoring tooling.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ONEACCESS-SUMOF-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- OneAccess CPE routers (ONEOS platform)
Monitoring Examples
An operator polls sumOfIfInErrors and sumOfIfOutErrors for a physical ifIndex that carries dozens of customer subinterfaces, instead of polling ifInErrors on each one individually; a rising aggregate error count without an obvious single culprit subinterface would prompt drilling down into the individual subinterfaces to isolate which one is generating the errors.
What Can Be Monitored
- aggregated inbound/outbound octet counters across subinterfaces
- aggregated unicast/non-unicast packet counters
- aggregated discard and error counters
- aggregated multicast/broadcast packet counters
- aggregated 64-bit high-capacity counters
