Category: CPE/Router

Description: Manages ATM interface configuration, virtual circuits, and performance statistics on OneAccess CPE routers.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ONEACCESS-ATM-MIB?

ONEACCESS-ATM-MIB is a OneAccess private-enterprise MIB that manages ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) interface configuration, virtual circuits, and performance statistics on OneAccess customer-premises equipment (CPE) routers. It exposes per-channel ATM configuration (VPI/VCI) alongside performance-counter data such as transmitted/received bytes and cells, receive errors, and transmit overflow counts, placing it firmly in the interfaces/performance-counters category. It is directly useful for monitoring the software/hardware performance status of the ATM interface: tracking cell/byte throughput per virtual circuit and watching error and overflow counters to detect a degraded or congested ATM link before it causes service impact. As an ATM MIB it likely complements or overlaps conceptually with the standard IETF ATM-MIB (RFC 2515) for base ATM interface objects even as a vendor-specific extension. It is typically deployed on OneAccess CPE routers providing ATM-based WAN access (e.g., DSL/ATM uplinks) at customer sites. Engineers can download the ONEACCESS-ATM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ONEACCESS-ATM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • OneAccess CPE router

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll the oacAtmChannelTable/oacAtmChannelEntry (keyed by oacAtmChanVpi/oacAtmChanVci) to check oacAtmChanTxBytes, oacAtmChanTxCells, oacAtmChanRxBytes, and oacAtmChanRxCells for per-VC throughput, alongside oacAtmChanRxErrors and oacAtmChanTxOverflows for error/congestion conditions. A rising oacAtmChanRxErrors or oacAtmChanTxOverflows count on a given VPI/VCI would indicate a degraded ATM link or downstream congestion affecting that circuit, while the oacAtmAal0ChannelGlobalStatTable provides aggregate AAL0 channel statistics for overall ATM health.

What Can Be Monitored

  • ATM virtual circuit (VPI/VCI) configuration
  • per-VC transmitted/received bytes and cells
  • ATM receive errors
  • ATM transmit overflow count
