Description: Manages Network Address Translation configuration, mappings, and session statistics on OneAccess CPE routers.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ONEACCESS-NAT-MIB?
ONEACCESS-NAT-MIB is a vendor MIB from OneAccess for managing Network Address Translation on its CPE routers, covering NAT configuration, address mappings, and session-level statistics. It exposes counters for active and closed NAT sessions, inbound/outbound translation counts, address map counts, and packet drop counters, plus a per-session table with session identifiers. Its main monitoring value is operational/performance status of the NAT function, letting an operator watch active session counts, translation failures, and dropped packets to detect NAT table exhaustion, address pool depletion, or misconfigured mappings that would block outbound connectivity. It complements standard IP and interface MIBs on the router, since NAT operates on top of the underlying IP forwarding path. It is typically deployed on OneAccess branch-office routers performing NAT/PAT for LAN-to-WAN Internet access. Engineers can download the ONEACCESS-NAT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ONEACCESS-NAT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- OneAccess CPE router
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll oacNatActiveSessions and oacNatSessionsClosed to track session churn, and oacNatDynamicAllocFailures alongside oacNatInsideAddrMaps/oacNatOutsideAddrMaps to detect address pool exhaustion. Rising oacNatInPktsDropped or oacNatOutPktsDropped counters would reveal NAT-related packet loss, and walking oacNatSessionTable by oacNatSessionID lets an operator inspect individual active translations. A spike in oacNatDynamicAllocFailures combined with high oacNatActiveSessions would strongly suggest the NAT table or address pool has run out of capacity.
What Can Be Monitored
- active NAT sessions
- closed NAT sessions
- inbound/outbound translation counts
- dynamic allocation failures
- dropped NAT packets
- per-session NAT entries
