Description: Manages Service Node Interface (SNI) uplink configuration and status for NSCRTV EPON OLT systems.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is NSCRTV-EPON-SNI-MIB?

NSCRTV-EPON-SNI-MIB is an NSCRTV vendor-specific MIB that manages the Service Node Interface (SNI), the uplink-facing Ethernet ports, on NSCRTV EPON Optical Line Terminal (OLT) systems. It models per-port configuration and status through sniAttributeTable (sniAdminStatus, sniOperationStatus, sniMediaType, sniAutoNegotiationStatus/Mode, sniLastStatusChangeTime), uplink aggregation via sniTrunkGroupConfigTable and sniTrunkGroupTable (member ports, actual aggregated speed, admin/operation status), and traffic-control features including sniMirrorTable for port mirroring, sniMacAddressManagement/sniMacAddressTable for MAC learning and aging, and sniBroadcastStormSuppressionTable for per-port unicast/multicast/broadcast storm thresholds in packets per second. This data is useful for monitoring the health and configuration of the OLT's network-facing uplinks, separate from the PON-facing ONU ports, including link state, aggregate trunk bandwidth, and storm-control enforcement. It imports device/card/port indexing types from NSCRTV-EPONEOC-EPON-MIB, so it depends on that module for the broader EPON device model, and it is deployed on NSCRTV EPON OLT chassis alongside that parent MIB, with its objects documented here for NSCRTV-EPON-SNI-MIB MIB Browser lookups by operators managing EPON access networks.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NSCRTV-EPON-SNI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • NSCRTV EPON OLT (Optical Line Terminal) systems

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls sniAttributeTable for a given device/card/port index to check sniOperationStatus against sniAdminStatus and review sniAutoNegotiationStatus; an SNI port administratively up but operationally down, or one whose sniLastStatusChangeTime shows a recent flap, would indicate an uplink connectivity problem between the OLT and the upstream aggregation switch.

What Can Be Monitored

  • SNI port admin/operational status
  • media type and auto-negotiation status
  • trunk group membership and aggregated speed
  • port mirroring configuration
  • MAC address table entries and aging time
  • broadcast/multicast/unicast storm suppression rates
