What Is NRC-MultiGate?

NRC-MultiGate is a legacy NRC MIB for managing multiport gateway ("MultiGate") devices; its object definitions closely mirror those of the vendor's NRC-HUB1-MIB, suggesting the MultiGate product shares the same repeater/hub-style port management architecture. It exposes the same class of port-level configuration data — auto-partition state, collision handling parameters, carrier recovery timing, bridging mode, and protocol filtering — applied to the MultiGate's ports. Its monitoring value is similarly focused on Ethernet-layer port health: detecting auto-partitioned ports, tracking collision-related counters, and confirming bridging/filtering configuration, which reveals physical-layer faults or misconfigured segments. Given the shared object set with NRC-HUB1-MIB, it likely depends on or was derived from that MIB's data model within NRC's product family.
