Category: GPON/EPON
Description: Tracks NMS Communications EPON bindings between LLIDs and ONU devices on a PON port.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is NMS-EPON-LLID-ONU-BIND?
NMS-EPON-LLID-ONU-BIND is a proprietary MIB (built on NMS-SMI) reporting EPON ONU-to-LLID (Logical Link ID) binding state. Its bind table, keyed by DIID (Discovery Interval ID), records sequence number, ONU MAC-address index, binding description/type/status, distance, and RTT (Round-Trip Time), while a create table manages new LLID bindings (row status, bind-onu status) and an unbind table records unbind requests. As a status/configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm which ONU is bound to a given LLID and its measured distance/RTT on an EPON access network. It is deployed on EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) OLT equipment (LLID/ONU binding). Engineers can download the NMS-EPON-LLID-ONU-BIND file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NMS-EPON-LLID-ONU-BIND. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) OLT equipment (LLID/ONU binding)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks llidOnuBindDistance and llidOnuBindRTT to confirm an ONU's measured distance and round-trip time on an EPON access network.
What Can Be Monitored
- ONU-to-LLID binding state, distance, and round-trip time
