Description: Manages NMS Communications EPON LLID-level QoS policy assignments for upstream and downstream traffic.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is NMS-EPON-LLID-QOS-POLICY?
NMS-EPON-LLID-QOS-POLICY is a vendor-private MIB from NMS Communications that manages QoS policy-map assignment for individual LLIDs (Logical Link IDs) on EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) access equipment. Its single table, nmsEponLiidQosPolicyTable, exposes liidIfIndex (the unique LLID interface identifier) and liidQosPolicy (the up-to-20-character policy map name), while liidQosPolicyCreate accepts an encoded slot_LLID_policy string to apply a policy map to a specific LLID and liidQosPolicyDel is a boolean flag to remove an assigned policy. This is a configuration-oriented MIB rather than a counters/statistics MIB, so monitoring it mainly reveals which QoS treatment is currently bound to each subscriber LLID on the PON. It depends on the broader NMS-SMI EPON group and the underlying EPON line-card/OLT firmware that enforces the named policy maps, and is deployed on NMS Communications EPON OLT platforms, where administrators can download the NMS-EPON-LLID-QOS-POLICY file to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NMS-EPON-LLID-QOS-POLICY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- NMS Communications EPON OLT/access platforms
Monitoring Examples
An operator sets liidQosPolicyCreate to a string like '07_q1' to bind policy map 'q1' to the LLID on PON port 7, then reads liidQosPolicy for that liidIfIndex to confirm the binding took effect; a blank or unexpected liidQosPolicy value after such a set indicates the policy application failed.
What Can Be Monitored
- LLID-to-QoS-policy-map bindings
- policy creation/apply operation string per LLID
- policy deletion flag state
- per-LLID interface index enumeration
