Description: Monitors Network Appliance (NetApp) filer system status, disk health, volume utilization, and NFS/CIFS performance.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is NETWORK-APPLIANCE-MIB?

NETWORK-APPLIANCE-MIB is a Network Appliance (NetApp, enterprise OID 789) proprietary MIB reporting general product identity and CPU statistics for NetApp SNMPv2 devices. Its objects cover product type/version/ID/vendor/model/firmware version, GUI/API URLs, serial number, partner serial number, CPU architecture, trap data, machine type, and CPU up-time/busy-time/busy-percent/idle-time/idle-percent, CPU count, switch invocations, context switches, interrupts (total and non-CP), and CP-interrupt percentage. As a status/performance MIB it lets an administrator confirm firmware version and watch CPU load on a NetApp storage controller. It is deployed on Network Appliance (NetApp) storage-controller equipment. Engineers can download the NETWORK-APPLIANCE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NETWORK-APPLIANCE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Network Appliance (NetApp) storage-controller equipment

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks cpuBusyTimePerCent and productFirmwareVersion to watch CPU load and confirm firmware version on a NetApp storage controller.

What Can Be Monitored
