Description: Manages Unidirectional Link Detection protocol state and messaging interval on Netgear switch ports.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is NETGEAR-UDLD-MIB?
NETGEAR-UDLD-MIB is a Netgear (Broadcom FastPath switch software) proprietary MIB configuring UDLD (UniDirectional Link Detection), which detects a fiber/copper link that is only passing traffic in one direction. Its objects cover a global mode, message/timeout interval, a reset action, and a per-interface table (operational status, admin mode, aggressive-mode flag). As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm UDLD is enabled and check for a detected unidirectional link on a Netgear FastPath switch. It is deployed on Netgear FastPath-based managed switches. Engineers can download the NETGEAR-UDLD-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NETGEAR-UDLD-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Netgear FastPath-based managed switches
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks agentUdldInterfaceOperStatus to confirm UDLD detected and shut down a unidirectional link on a Netgear FastPath switch port.
What Can Be Monitored
- UDLD (unidirectional link detection) status per interface
