What Is QUANTA-LB6M-REF-MIB?

QUANTA-LB6M-REF-MIB is a vendor-specific structural MIB defining the enterprise OID tree for the Netgear/Quanta LB6M managed switch platform, sold under the Netgear brand but built on Quanta hardware. Rather than exposing runtime data itself, it establishes the naming hierarchy (quantaProducts, lb6mQuanta, managedSwitch, vpnrouter, carrier branches) under which the platform's functional MIB modules register their objects. As a reference/root MIB it does not itself carry monitorable hardware or software status counters; its purpose is purely organizational, letting sibling LB6M MIB modules plug in objects for things like port status, VLAN configuration, or environmental sensors elsewhere in the product-specific tree. It has an implicit dependency relationship with the broader Quanta/Netgear MIB family, since those modules import OID roots defined here. It is deployed wherever an LB6M-series managed switch is present, as the base import target for that device's other SNMP MIB modules, and the QUANTA-LB6M-REF-MIB MIB is typically the first file engineers load into a MIB browser or compiler before pulling in the switch's functional modules.
