Description: NCR-CORESST-MIB module

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is NCR-CORESST-MIB?

NCR-CORESST-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from NCR that models the Core SST (System Status and Telemetry) subsystem used across NCR self-service/retail terminal platforms, matching the hint's description of device health, verification states, and component service status. It exposes sstManagementProtocolTable for agent/protocol identification, sstComponentStateTable reporting per-module operational state (sstComponentStateDescrip, sstComponentStateCategory, sstComponentStateCode) using the VerificationState and SSTState textual conventions (healthy, attentionSoon, attentionNow, notConfigured), sstServiceStateTable for in-service/out-of-service status via the SSTService convention, sstTransStateTable for transaction-processing state, and sstDeviceLogTable for historical device event logging, plus sstAgentFilterTable for controlling which agent events are reported. It depends on RFC1155-SMI/RFC-1212/RFC1213-MIB/RFC1253-MIB conventions for basic types (Counter, DisplayString, TruthValue) rather than SNMPv2 constructs. It is deployed on NCR self-service terminals, ATMs, and point-of-sale/retail hardware running the Core SST agent for centralized device diagnostics and alarm management, and administrators can download the NCR-CORESST-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser when building terminal-health dashboards.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NCR-CORESST-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • NCR self-service terminals (ATM/retail/POS hardware running Core SST agent)

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls sstComponentStateTable to check sstComponentStateCategory for a card reader or receipt printer module and cross-references sstServiceStateTable's SSTService value; a component reporting SSTState 'attentionNow' alongside an 'outService' entry in sstServiceStateTable would indicate that peripheral has failed and taken itself offline, requiring field service.

What Can Be Monitored

  • per-component operational/verification state
  • in-service/out-of-service status per module
  • transaction-processing state
  • device event/history log entries
  • management protocol/agent identification
  • agent event filtering configuration
