Description: NETBOTZ300-MIB module

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is NETBOTZ300-MIB?

NETBOTZ300-MIB is APC's (NetBotz/BotzWare) MIB for its NetBotz 300-series environmental monitoring appliances, used in server rooms and equipment racks. It exposes enclosure-level identity and status information - enclosure ID, label, and physical hierarchy (parent and docked enclosure relationships) - along with DIN-rail sensor port tables and overall device error status. Its core purpose is hardware/environmental status monitoring: enclosureStatus and enclosureErrorStatus report whether a given enclosure or its attached sensors (e.g., temperature, humidity, door, or power probes wired through the DIN ports) are healthy or faulted, and netBotzErrorStatus reflects the overall appliance's error condition. It is part of the broader APC/NetBotz family and is commonly deployed alongside NETBOTZ-PRD-CRL-MIB2TRAP-MIB, which forwards these same conditions as SNMP traps. It is used in data centers and wiring closets to provide physical environmental and security monitoring of racks and enclosures. Engineers can download the NETBOTZ300-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NETBOTZ300-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • APC NetBotz 300-series environmental monitoring appliance

Monitoring Examples

An administrator polls enclosureTable/enclosureEntry across all enclosureIndex values, checking enclosureStatus and enclosureErrorStatus for each enclosure; a nonzero enclosureErrorStatus on a specific index reveals that appliance or an attached sensor is reporting a fault. enclosureParentEncId and enclosureDockedToEncId reconstruct the physical topology of stacked/docked sensor pods, while dinPortTable/dinPortEntry exposes the individual sensor ports attached to a given enclosure. A pattern of repeated enclosureErrorStatus alerts on the same enclosureLabel would point to a specific rack location with a recurring environmental problem such as a failing temperature or humidity sensor.

What Can Be Monitored

  • enclosure operational status
  • enclosure error status
  • enclosure physical hierarchy (parent/docked relationships)
  • DIN sensor port status
  • overall NetBotz device error status
