Description: Manages NB30 device configuration, interfaces, and basic system status objects.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is NB30MIB?
NB30MIB is a vendor-specific MIB (apparently from a bridge/router equipment maker, based on the "nb30" naming and bridging/DSX objects) managing NB30 device configuration, interfaces, and basic system status. It belongs to the WAN/bridge networking technology area, covering bridging and DSX (digital signal cross-connect) circuit interfaces. It exposes device-level identity and control objects (bridge name, port count, device type/version, location), bridge frame-forwarding/receive counters, and DSX channel objects, plus operations to disable or restart the bridge and restore settings. Its monitoring value spans both software and traffic status: nb30DeviceStatus reports overall device operational status, nb30DeviceVersion identifies firmware, and nb30DeviceFrFwds/nb30DeviceFrRxs track bridge frame forwarding/reception performance counters, together letting an admin confirm the bridge is up, running the expected version, and passing traffic. It is a self-contained enterprise MIB with an internal dependency structure between its device, bridge, and DSX/channel object groups. It's typically deployed on WAN bridge/DSX interface equipment used to interconnect LAN segments over digital circuits. Engineers can download the NB30MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NB30MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- NB30 bridge/DSX WAN interconnect device
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll nb30DeviceStatus and nb30DeviceType to confirm the unit is operational and identify its hardware type, while nb30DeviceFrFwds and nb30DeviceFrRxs give bridge frame forwarding and receive counts useful for spotting a stalled or congested bridge link. The nb30DeviceNumPorts and nb30DeviceBdgName objects identify the bridge's port count and configured name, and nb30DeviceVersion would be checked after a firmware update to confirm the new version took effect. Falling nb30DeviceFrFwds/nb30DeviceFrRxs counters on an otherwise-up device would point to a bridging or DSX channel problem rather than a device outage.
What Can Be Monitored
- device operational status
- hardware/firmware version
- bridge frame forward/receive counters
- port count and bridge name
- DSX channel configuration
