Category: QoS

Description: Manages D-Link switch QoS policy maps, class maps, and queuing configuration.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is MY-QOS-MIB?

MY-QOS-MIB is a D-Link proprietary MIB that manages policy-based Quality of Service (QoS) configuration on D-Link switches, covering traffic classification and DSCP-based prioritization. It exposes objects for enabling QoS globally, defining traffic classes and their priority mappings, and mapping between priority levels and DSCP values. This is a configuration MIB rather than a hardware-health MIB: administrators use it to verify that traffic classification and prioritization policies are correctly applied so latency-sensitive traffic such as voice and video receives appropriate queuing treatment across the switch. It works in conjunction with standard DiffServ concepts of DSCP marking, though implemented with D-Link-specific object names rather than the IETF DIFFSERV-MIB. It is deployed on D-Link managed switches in networks carrying mixed traffic types that need differentiated QoS treatment. Engineers can download the MY-QOS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MY-QOS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • D-Link managed switch

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks myQoSGlobalStatus to confirm QoS is enabled switch-wide, then reviews myTrafficClassTable entries, myTrafficClass and myTrafficClassPriority, to verify a given traffic class maps to the intended priority queue. Cross-referencing myDscpClassTable and myPriorityToDscp confirms that DSCP-marked voice traffic is correctly classified into the expected priority class rather than being treated as best-effort. If voice quality complaints arise, the admin checks myPriorityDscpMaxValue and the class mappings to rule out a misconfigured DSCP-to-priority translation.

What Can Be Monitored

  • global QoS enable status
  • traffic class priority mapping
  • DSCP-to-priority class mapping
  • number of configured traffic/priority classes
