Category: WAN

Description: Defines multi-link bundle interface management objects for aggregated WAN links.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is MLB-MIB?

MLB-MIB (Radware's "rs" object prefix indicates a Radware-originated module) manages multi-link/load-balancing appliances that distribute application traffic across multiple servers and WAN links, despite the module's generic name suggesting simple link bundling. It exposes an application-server table tracking each server's address, name, weight, and operational mode, alongside proximity-tuning and DNS-based routing parameters used for global/link load balancing. Monitoring emphasis is squarely on server and link health: server operational status, attached-user counts, peak load, and frame rate/load counters reveal whether a back-end server or link is overloaded or has failed over. It is part of Radware's proprietary MIB tree and would typically be polled alongside standard interface MIBs for the underlying WAN link statistics. Typical deployment is enterprise or service-provider sites using Radware link/server load balancers for WAN link aggregation and global server load balancing. Engineers can download the MLB-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MLB-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Radware link/server load balancer
  • WAN link aggregation appliance

Monitoring Examples

An admin polls rsMLBApplicationServersTable (rsMLBServerEntry) to check rsMLBServerOperStatus and rsMLBServerAttachedUsersNumber for each server identified by rsMLBServerName/rsMLBServerAddr, watching rsMLBServerPeakLoad and rsMLBServerFramesRate/rsMLBServerFramesLoad for signs of overload. A change in rsMLBServerStatus or rsMLBServerOperMode combined with shifts in rsMLBProximity/rsMLBProximityTuning and rsMLBDNS would indicate a failover or a change in how proximity-based DNS is steering client traffic.

What Can Be Monitored

  • server operational status
  • server weight
  • attached users count
  • peak load / frame rate
  • proximity-based routing
  • DNS steering configuration
