What Is PPVPN-TC-MIB?
PPVPN-TC-MIB is a vendor-neutral IETF MIB module that defines textual conventions (TCs) — shared data types — for Provider Provisioned VPN (PPVPN) management, used across Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPN MIBs such as VPN identifiers. It does not itself expose runtime monitoring data; rather it standardizes type definitions that other MIBs import and build upon. As a pure textual-convention module, it has no direct role in hardware or software status monitoring, uptime, or fault reporting on its own. Its entire purpose is dependency: it is imported by other PPVPN-related MIBs (such as L2VPN or L3VPN MIBs) to ensure consistent representation of VPN identifiers across implementations. It is used in service-provider network management systems that manage L2VPN/L3VPN services across routers supporting PPVPN.
