Description: Manages MICOM Remote System Interface configuration and status.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is MICOM-RSI-MIB?
MICOM-RSI-MIB is a proprietary MICOM MIB for the Remote System Interface, which handles address resolution and caching for MICOM signaling/multiplexer equipment. It exposes system-wide configuration defaults such as the VNCS instance, cache entry count, and address-resolution retry/timeout settings, along with a cache table mapping directory-number digits to DNA addresses, profile numbers, and hit counts. Its main monitoring value is address-resolution subsystem status, since cache status and per-entry hit counts reveal whether the resolution cache is populated correctly and being used effectively. It is a standalone proprietary enterprise MIB that likely pairs operationally with the related MICOM-MPANL-SIGNALING-MIB for combined signaling and addressing management. It is deployed on MICOM data/voice switching equipment performing remote system address resolution in legacy telecom networks. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the MICOM-RSI-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MICOM-RSI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- MICOM remote system interface equipment
Monitoring Examples
Checking mcmRSISysCfgSetAddrCacheStatus and mcmRSISysCfgSetAddrResRetries/Timeout confirms address resolution is enabled and tuned correctly. Walking mcmRSICacheCfgTable shows mcmRSICacheCfgDNDigits mapped to mcmRSICacheCfgDNAAddr along with mcmRSICacheCfgNumberOfHits. A cache entry with zero hits despite heavy expected traffic could indicate a stale or incorrect address mapping.
What Can Be Monitored
- address resolution cache status
- cache entry count/capacity
- resolution retry count and timeout
- per-entry cache hit count
- DN-to-DNA address mapping
