Description: Lexmark MIB for managing Lexmark Managed Print Services (MPS) devices including print fleet status and usage statistics.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is LEXMARK-MPS-MIB?
LEXMARK-MPS-MIB is a Lexmark enterprise MIB supporting Lexmark's Managed Print Services (MPS) offering, used to inventory and monitor a fleet of network-attached print devices from a central management perspective. It exposes per-device inventory data -- model, serial number, MIB support level/version, install date, and a hardware inventory table -- alongside its linkage into the standard Host Resources device index for cross-referencing with generic printer/host data. Its monitoring emphasis is on software/hardware status identification for fleet management: confirming each device's identity (serial number, model), how long it has been in service (install date), and its hardware inventory composition, which supports usage-based billing, warranty tracking, and proactive service dispatch in an MPS program. It explicitly ties into the IETF Host Resources MIB via deviceHrDeviceIndex, and typically works alongside Printer-MIB for consumables/status detail. It is deployed by print-service providers and enterprise IT managing large fleets of Lexmark printers/MFPs under contract for usage and maintenance monitoring. Engineers can download the LEXMARK-MPS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in LEXMARK-MPS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Lexmark network printers and multifunction devices (MPS fleet)
Monitoring Examples
An MPS operator would poll deviceTable/deviceEntry, indexed by deviceIndex, to read deviceModel, deviceSerialNumber, and deviceInstallDate for every printer under a service contract, confirming inventory records match physically deployed units. deviceMibVersion and deviceMibSupportLevel indicate what management capability level a given unit supports, which determines what further monitoring/automation is possible for that device. Cross-referencing deviceHrDeviceIndex with the Host Resources device table and consulting hwInventoryTable lets the operator correlate this MPS-specific record with the device's generic hardware profile for a complete asset picture.
What Can Be Monitored
- device model and serial number
- device install date
- MIB support level/version
- hardware inventory composition
- device port/connection identity

| I32 deviceAlertIndex | 1.3.6.1.4.1.641.6.5.1.1.1 | Integer32 | read-only | The index of this alert in the alert table. This table is expected to be rather dynamic, with rows added as alert conditions occur on devices, and then the rows being removed as alert conditions are cleared. The data in this table should not persist over a POR, but should be reset when the printer is reset, with appropriated items being added back in as the printer finds them. While this OID is marked as read-only, it should not be returned as table-column, which means it should be treated as not-accessible. It is marked as read-only in the MIB only because many MIB compilers will complain about this being called not-accessible since the trap can return this index. |
| INT deviceAlertConfigTableNode | 1.3.6.1.4.1.641.6.5.1.1.2 | INTEGER | read-only | The subnode of the device node that indicates the table the holds information about the item this alert refers to. For instance, if the alert is a hardware alert, this object should hold the value of '2', indicating that the alert is for a member of the device.hwInventoryTable. Common values of this would be 2 -> hwInventoryTable 3 -> supplyInventoryTable 4 -> swInventoryTable |
| I32 deviceAlertConfigTableIndex | 1.3.6.1.4.1.641.6.5.1.1.3 | Integer32 | read-only | The index of the row of the table indicated by deviceAlertConfigTableNode that corresponds to the item that this alert pertains to. For instance, if a printer's fuser is the first item listed in the supplyInventoryTable, then deviceAlertConfigTableNode = 3 and deviceAlertConfigTableIndex = 1. |
