Description: Lexmark private MIB for managing Lexmark printer device configuration, consumable status, and job accounting.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is LEXMARK-PVT-MIB?

LEXMARK-PVT-MIB is Lexmark's private enterprise MIB for managing Lexmark network printers, covering the underlying operating system layer of the print engine including firmware revision, memory sizing, and job/timeout handling. It exposes objects for firmware code revision, RAM/NVRAM/ROM size and type, supported protocols, current print job identification and timeout, and a per-job current-job table, along with hardware identification fields like card part number and engineering change level. Its monitoring focus spans both software and hardware status: opsysCodeRev tracks firmware version, opsysRAMSize/opsysNVRAMSize/opsysROMSize describe memory hardware, opsysCurrentJob and opsysCurrentJobTable reveal active print job state and stuck/timed-out jobs via opsysJobTimeout and opsysTimeToReset, and opsysCardPartNo/opsysCardEC identify the installed controller card hardware revision. It typically complements the standard Printer MIB (RFC 3805) rather than replacing it, adding Lexmark-specific operating-system-level detail. It is deployed on Lexmark network-attached laser/inkjet printers and multifunction devices in office environments. Engineers can download the LEXMARK-PVT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in LEXMARK-PVT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Lexmark network laser/inkjet printer
  • Lexmark multifunction device

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll opsysCurrentJob and opsysCurrentJobTable to see which print job is active on a Lexmark printer, and check opsysJobTimeout and opsysTimeToReset to determine if a stuck job is about to be force-cleared. opsysCodeRev would be polled fleet-wide to confirm all Lexmark printers are running the expected firmware version before a support escalation. opsysRAMSize, opsysNVRAMSize, and opsysROMSize would be checked when diagnosing a printer that is failing to accept large or complex print jobs due to insufficient memory.

What Can Be Monitored

  • firmware/code revision
  • RAM/NVRAM/ROM size
  • current print job and job timeout
  • supported protocols
  • controller card part number/revision
