Description: Lexmark textual conventions MIB defining shared data types and enumerations used across Lexmark printer MIB modules.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is LEXMARK-TC-MIB?
LEXMARK-TC-MIB is a Lexmark-specific textual-conventions module that defines shared data types and enumerations used across the broader family of Lexmark printer management MIBs. It does not itself expose any monitorable scalars or tables; instead it standardizes type definitions, such as status codes or enumerated states, that other Lexmark MIBs reference to describe printer hardware and consumable status. Because it carries no runtime objects, it plays no direct role in polling uptime, temperature, or job status, but it underpins the consistency of those values wherever they are reported in sibling Lexmark MIBs. It is explicitly a dependency for other Lexmark printer MIB modules, which import its type definitions rather than duplicating them. It is deployed only indirectly, loaded as a compile-time dependency whenever a Lexmark printer's full MIB tree is parsed for monitoring purposes. Engineers can download the LEXMARK-TC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in LEXMARK-TC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Lexmark network printers and multifunction devices
Monitoring Examples
This module defines only textual conventions and enumerations with no tables or scalar objects of its own to poll. There is no direct monitoring scenario since it exposes no runtime data; its purpose is purely to be imported by other Lexmark printer MIBs that need consistent type definitions. A monitoring tool would encounter it only while resolving IMPORTS for a Lexmark printer's device-status or consumables MIB.
