Category: Network Management

Description: Monitors LANoptics hub port status and repeater statistics.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is LANOPTICS-HUB-MIB?

LANOPTICS-HUB-MIB is a LANOptics (enterprise OID 224) proprietary MIB for LANOptics hub chassis hardware. Its objects cover the chassis's maximum slot count and current populated-slot count, a configuration object, an active-NMS (network management station) indicator, a reset action, an internal ID, a dirty-configuration-bit flag, and a per-slot table. As a hardware/configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm how many slots are populated against the chassis maximum and check whether unsaved configuration changes (the dirty bit) are pending. It is deployed on LANOptics hub chassis hardware. Engineers can download the LANOPTICS-HUB-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in LANOPTICS-HUB-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • LANOptics hub chassis hardware

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks snDirtyBit before a planned reset to confirm there are no unsaved configuration changes that would be lost, and reviews snSlotsNum against snMaxSlots to plan capacity for new modules.

What Can Be Monitored

  • populated vs. maximum slot count
  • unsaved-configuration (dirty-bit) flag
