Description: Juniper Networks conformance statements for RADIUS proxy functionality on Juniper E-series edge routers.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is Juniper-RADIUS-Proxy-CONF?

This module holds the SNMP agent capabilities definitions for the RADIUS Proxy component of the Juniper Networks E-series SNMP agent. RADIUS proxy functionality sits in the AAA/subscriber authentication path of Juniper's broadband edge router software, and this conformance module declares which RADIUS proxy MIB groups and compliances are implemented on a given agent. It supports monitoring of authentication infrastructure health -- for instance whether proxy request/response counters and server reachability status objects can be polled -- which is important since RADIUS proxy failures directly affect subscriber login and session establishment. It depends on the corresponding Juniper RADIUS Proxy data MIB as well as general AAA-related conventions. It is used by carrier NMS teams monitoring authentication plane reliability on E-series edge routers. Engineers can download the Juniper-RADIUS-Proxy-CONF file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Juniper-RADIUS-Proxy-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Juniper Networks E-series broadband edge routers

Monitoring Examples

A carrier's monitoring system would consult Juniper-RADIUS-Proxy-CONF to confirm the agent's declared support for RADIUS proxy statistics before setting up alerts on proxy request failures or server timeout counters. As a conformance-only module it has no pollable data itself, so it is cross-checked against the RADIUS Proxy data MIB tables that expose real counters. Missing compliance groups would indicate that certain proxy health metrics cannot be trusted on that agent version.

What Can Be Monitored

  • RADIUS proxy MIB group conformance
  • implemented compliance statements
  • supported RADIUS proxy object groups
